Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs the events?

Each event is conducted by different people and companies. Currently, Rogue Tech Hub has no involvement in the actual events. We are simply here to let the local tech community know about all the events and provide write-ups for the events after the fact. Each event listing provides contact information to help you learn more about individual events.

Why are all events linked to Meetup pages?

Meetup is great at helping local people organize events. The Meetup API makes it easy to download event information and link to that information from our site. Each local group can create and share their events. We aggregate the information in one central place for your benefit.

I host tech events in the Rogue Valley, can I get listed?

We are very interested in listing more local tech events. Please use the contact us page and, in the “What are you interested in” field, select the Hosting Events option. Let us know the basic details of your event, and we will get in touch about adding your group’s event information to the website.

What if I don’t have a paid Meetup account?

We have a Rogue Tech Hub Meetup account set up to list local events for groups without a Meetup account. While individual group Meetup accounts are preferable for getting people excited about your group’s idea, we want to make sure that all tech events in Southern Oregon show up in our calendar so if you would like to list on our Meetup group, get in touch and we can make that happen.

What can I do to help?

We are always looking for people to be a part of the team. Please use the contact us page and, in the “What are you interested in” field, select the Volunteering option. If there is something specific you want to work on, let us know in the message. We will be in touch soon.

You should really be doing COOLTHING

Sounds like you’ve got a great idea for us! If you think your idea would be great for the local tech community, use the contact us page to let us know what more we can do to help the Rogue Valley technical community. If your idea is outside the scope of our mission, we might be able to connect you with others who are interested in the same thing.

Is Rogue Tech Hub involved in trying to attract companies to the Valley?

Our mission is to be the online technical hub for the workers and companies that are already in the Valley, so we don’t focus on bringing in new businesses. Instead, our hope is that, as a benefit of enhancing and advancing the technical community in the Valley, businesses that may be relocating consider the Rogue Valley for their future home. Currently there are two groups that focus on bringing businesses to the Valley: Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Initiative (SOREDI) and Sustainable Valley Technology Group (SVTG).
